Foraged Lemons Lemonade Recipe
Lemon trees, like most citrus trees, need a good amount of sunshine and warmth to grow. Which explains why you'll be hard pressed to find a lemon tree you can forage the fruit from on your country walks in the UK. In warmer climes however you might just stumble upon a lemon tree bearing fruit, as I did a few weeks back in South Africa. And, as the saying goes, 'when Mother Nature gives you lemons- make lemonade.' So here you have it, the simplest of simple foraged lemons lemonade recipe (there are only 3 ingredients!).
+ 2 cups of sugar
+ 6-8 cups of water
+ 2 cups of lemon juice (pulp included)
+ Melt the sugar & water together by bringing to a simmer on the hob & gently stirring
+ Add your foraged lemon juice
+ Taste & adjust - adding more water to dilute, more sugar to sweeten & more lemon for more flavouring
+ Fridge to cool, then enjoy
Could there be a simpler recipe?! Remember that if you are lucky enough to forage for your lemons, only take what you need and get permission from the landowner first!
